RINDGE, N.H. – The Saint Michael's men's hockey team (4-3-0, 2-0-0 NE-10, 2-3-0 ECAC East) snapped a three-game losing skid with a 6-4 win at Franklin Pierce (3-9-0, 2-1-0 NE-10) on Saturday, thanks to four goals and an assist by junior Reave MacKinnon (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Winnipeg Saints). Senior Nick Sheehan (Potsdam, N.Y./Cornwall Colts) added three assists, and junior Brady Earle (Columbia, Md./The Gunnery School) had two assists in the win.

MacKinnon opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a breakaway goal down the left wing on assists from Sheehan and freshman Kevin Lampron (Dorchester, Mass./Bridgewater Bandits), and sophomores Dan Evarts (Hinesburg, Vt./Green Mountain Glades) and Alex Davidson (South Burlington, Vt./Saint Paul's School) added goals in the first period to give Saint Michael's a healthy 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

The Ravens found new life in the second period and exploded for four goals, two on power plays, and would have taken the lead had MacKinnon not interrupted the Franklin Pierce attack with his second goal of the night. Junior Anthony Chighisola (Whitman, Mass./Williston North Hampton) paced the Ravens with two goals.

The two squads battled through a scoreless third period until MacKinnon connected with the game-winner with 4:48 left, securing the hat trick on a rebound from the bottom of the left circle. The Ravens pulled junior goalie Ben Siok (Holden, Mass./Saint John's Shrewsbury) with 14 seconds left, allowing MacKinnon to tally an empty net goal with one second remaining to up his grand total to four goals on the evening.

Sophomore goalie Mike Dizgun (Kirkland, Que./OCN Blizzard) earned the win with 27 saves for Saint Michael's, and Siok stopped 38 shots for Franklin Pierce.

The Purple Knights return to action on Dec. 28 when they host the U.S. National University Team for an exhibition game at 7 p.m. at Cairns Arena.
