SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team (5-6, 3-5 Northeast-10 Conference) ended its three game losing skid on Saturday with a 55-49 win at Le Moyne College.

Senior Logan Pintka (Schenectady, N.Y./Colonie Central) led a balanced scoring attack with 15 points and nine rebounds. Classmate Mandy Scott (Vergennes, Vt./Vergennes Union) and junior Coreen Hennessy (Chatham, N.H./Fryeburg Academy) netted seven points apiece as nine Purple Knights scored in the victory.

For Le Moyne (4-9, 1-8 NE-10), Emily Bayly tallied a team-best 16 points and eight rebounds. The Dolphins shot just 32 percent from the field in the game, and were outrebounded 40-36.

Le Moyne raced out to an 8-1 lead just five minutes into the game, but went cold offensively for the remainder of the first half. Saint Michael's scored the next 11 points over a 5:30 span to take the lead for good at 12-8, and the Purple Knights increased their advantage to 27-15 at halftime. Le Moyne shot just 5-of-24 from the field in the first half, a period that featured a combined 27 turnovers.

The Dolphins made a run early in the second half, as the hosts pulled to within 33-30 following a 3-pointer from Torie Lee with 12:40 to go. Saint Michael's was able to push its advantage back to double digits, however, as a Scott 3-pointer with five minutes left gave the visitors a 49-38 lead, and the Purple Knights were able to hang on despite a game-ending 9-2 run for Le Moyne.

Saint Michael's is back in action on Tuesday with a 5:30 p.m. home game versus league-rival Southern Connecticut State University at the Ross Sports Center.
