Box Score COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team capped its preseason slate with a 42-39 victory over Saint Lawrence University in an exhibition game on Saturday in the Ross Sports Center.
Junior Nicole Adach (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen) led the Purple Knights with a double-double in 27 minutes of action, totaling 12 points and 10 rebounds, while a trio added six points apiece. Senior Caitlin Quinn (Oakdale, Conn./Montville) knocked down two three-pointers to account for her points. Sophomore Alexa Long (Waterford, Conn./Waterford) snagged 10 boards, while senior Samantha Steinmetz (Washington, Conn./Shepaug Valley) had five caroms, two assists and two blocks.
Four players each totaled six points for the Saints, including sophomore Kelly Legg (Fairport, N.Y./Aquinas Institute) and freshman Maddy Wetterhahn (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson), who also both snagged six rebounds.
The Purple Knights begins the regular season on Friday with a 6 p.m. contest at Shippensburg University during the opening round of the Wolf's Bus Line Classic.
