NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team completed its regular-season road slate on Tuesday at Merrimack College, falling by a 69-49 count on Hammel Court in a Northeast-10 Conference contest. The Purple Knights, who entered the night tied for 11th in a league that accepts the top 10 into its postseason, slipped to 10-14 overall and 7-13 in the league. The Warriors are 5-19 and 4-16.

The Purple Knights erased an early five-point deficit by knotting the game at seven on a Hennessey three-pointer 6:33 into the game before falling behind but remaining close, trailing just 21-16 on a Long hoop with 6:55 left in the opening stanza. Another Long bucket brought her team within 26-20, but the Warriors reeled off 13 of the next 17 points to open up a 39-24 advantage 2:48 into the second half, and they never again led by fewer than 13.

The Purple Knights play their final two regular-season contests at home, beginning with a Senior Day match-up with Saint Anselm College on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
