- On the Purple Knights' first goal, a high puck was settled down by junior Noah Muller (Amsterdam, The Netherlands/Düsseldorfer EG), who passed to junior Sel Narby (Huntington, N.Y./Connecticut Junior Rangers) on the left side of the ice. Narby sent in a centering pass in front of the net that was redirected into the net by Egan 10:14 into the game.
- The Falcons scored 45 seconds later when Weitzman hit in a trickling pass by first-year Coleton Cianci to tie things up 1-1 10:59 into the game.
- The Falcons took the lead 11:31 into the second period when Smith scored on a rebound of a shot by first-year Jacob Ducharme.
- Schreiner tied the game for the Purple Knights on a power play with 37 seconds left in the second period when first-year Sam Johnson (Freeport, Maine/Walpole Express) shot from the point and Schreiner tipped it in.
- The third period was scoreless with Diamond and Turcotte recording 13 and 12 saves, respectively.
