HOOKSETT, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team lost to Northeast-10 Conference leader Southern New Hampshire University, 3-2, on Friday evening in the Ice Den. The Penmen are the lone NE10 squad remaining with a perfect record.

THE ACTION

  • The Purple Knights scored a pair of power-play goals in the opening period.
  • Kantgias snapped a shot home from between the circles at 13:44 before quick puck movement made it 2-0 at 19:16. McFarland sent a pass from the left boards toward the right post for Flack, who immediately passed back to the left post for Redden, who tapped it in.
  • Southern New Hampshire was held off the board until 16:44 of the second period, when Ring potted a 5-on-3 tally on a slap shot from the left point.
  • Heisse knotted the game at 15:24 of the third period, sending the equalizer in from the right circle.
  • With just 15 seconds left in regulation, Amante tapped in senior Jake Cox's cross out front.
  • Turcotte was pulled for the remainder of the contest, with Schreiner twice winning faceoffs down the stretch, but his team sent no tying bids toward the net.
