GUILDERLAND, N.Y. - Three Saint Michael's College men's golfers finished in the top 20 in a field loaded with regional powers during The College of Saint Rose Invitational on Wednesday at the Pinehaven Country Club. The Purple Knights, who were sixth among eight schools, took part in a two-round, 36-hole day.
TEAM RESULTS
- Saint Michael's placed sixth among eight schools with 629 strokes, coming within 12 shots of fifth-place Dominican (N.Y.) College, a 2019 NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship qualifier.
- Four of the top five teams qualified for the 2019 NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship, including Saint Thomas Aquinas (N.Y.) College, Concordia (N.Y.) College, Assumption University and Dominican. The only non-regionals qualifier in that bunch was Le Moyne College, which had two of the four individuals from the East at the 2019 regional championship.
- Saint Thomas Aquinas won with 586 strokes.
