Men's Basketball Defeated by Saint Anselm During Conference Action

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team lost to Saint Anselm College, 69-56, during a Northeast-10 Conference affair on Saturday in the Ross Sports Center. The Purple Knights were ranked 10th in the latest D2SIDA East Region Media Poll, while the Hawks received votes toward the most recent National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) national poll and sat fifth in the in D2SIDA East rankings.

THE ACTION

  • Kabimba's lay-in gave Saint Michael's a 5-2 edge 1:34 into the contest before Arbuckle had six points in a 15-0 response. Saint Anselm led 26-9 on Taylor's three at 5:01.
  • Senior Dario Milojevic's (Windsor, Ontario/Herman Academy/Mississippi Valley State) tip-in brought the hosts within 30-18 in the dying seconds of the first half, but Arbuckle beat the buzzer with a three to send his team into halftime up by 15.
  • Arbuckle's triple at 12:10 of the second stanza made it 49-29 before Duniver hit a pair of threes to bookend a 13-2 run, and the hosts were within 52-42 by 6:47.
  • Taylor knocked down a trey 44 seconds later, and the Hawks led by double figures from there.
