THE ACTION
- Playing under the NCAA's new four-quarter format, the Purple Knights struck first, with Murphy potting her first college goal on a free-position attempt at 11:12 of the opening quarter.
- Cassiliano responded with a natural hat trick during a 4:58 span, and Post led 3-1 at 4:44.
- After Alto won the ensuing draw, Murphy cut the deficit to a single goal 39 seconds later, kicking off a go-ahead 3-0 run. Murphy and Fleming added free-position goals, and the visitors were up 4-3 with 4:35 left in the second period.
- Distefano scored at 2:01, and the teams entered halftime tied.
- The Purple Knights utilized a 4-0 scoring lead in the third frame to take control, with Alto, Fleming and Gannon tallying in a 2:13 stretch to give their team a lead 7-4 by 3:42. Jordy Fenton assisted Fleming's goal before lending her second helper of the period on sister Addy Fenton's first college goal, with 46 seconds left.
- Cassiliano scored twice in the fourth quarter, but Drislane countered her on both occasions, with junior Emilie Webster (New London, N.H./Kearsarge Regional) assisting her second marker.
