Box Score NORTHFIELD, Vt. - A pair of goals 1:14 apart in the second period gave the Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey the lead for good in a 3-2 victory over Stonehill College on Tuesday evening. The squads played their Northeast-10 Conference contest at Norwich University's Kreitzberg Arena, as each of the Purple Knights' final three regular-season games are against the Skyhawks. Saint Michael's moved into fourth place with the victory.

THE ACTION
- Egan got Saint Michael's on the board just 4:01 after the opening faceoff, picking up a loose puck along the boards in the Purple Knight zone before carrying into the Skyhawk end and firing from the slot. His initial shot missed the net but rebounded off of the glass back out, and Egan finished at the left post.
- Nehmer tied the game 3:38 later, sending home a one-timer from the right circle during a power play.
- The Purple Knights went ahead for good with its two quick goals in the second period. During the latter portion of the stanza, Routh swooped around the top of the zone before pushing a pass toward the right circle for Narby, who beat Day over his glove hand at 12:52. McFarland also assisted.
- Soon thereafter, Kantgias had a shot from the left point saved, but Macdonald nabbed the rebound and finished on the doorstep. Stewart was credited with secondary helper.
- Page potted another one-timed power-play goal at 4:16 of the third period, bringing Stonehill within 3-2.
- However, during a stanza that saw Stonehill take only five shots, that proved to be the final attempt to reach the net. The Skyhawks did nearly tie the game at 10:39, when first-year Kyle Heath rung the post, and junior Connor Redden (Southbury, Conn./Team Maryland) blocked junior Teddy McElaney's follow-up bid.
- Day was pulled in the final minute, but no further Stonehill tries were taken.
