- Webster scored at 9:25 of the first quarter before Edwards converted an eight-meter attempt 1:27 later, and the Purple Knights led 2-0.
- The teams traded four two-goal runs, during which time Day scored three of AIC's four goals, until Saint Michael's was up 6-4 at 5:48 of the second quarter. Rich and Stolz split the Purple Knights' four tallies.
