Box Score 2 COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College softball team was swept by Southern New Hampshire University, 7-1 and 9-5, during a Northeast-10 Conference twinbill on Monday at Doc Jacobs Field. First-year Jenna Devens (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) slugged her program-record-tying eighth home run of the season.

- Devens, who has three home runs in the last two days, tied Ashley Harkins' '09 15-year-old school record for home runs in a season with her eighth. Those eight dingers have pushed her into the top 10 for home runs in a career, as well, with Devens tying Kate Condon '11 and Danielle Markowski '20 for ninth place.
- Saint Michael's has hit a school-record 27 home runs this season, the most by an NE10 program since Southern New Hampshire swatted 41 in 2019.
- The Purple Knights are amid a run of eight games in four days, which concludes on Tuesday.

THE ACTION
- The Penmen scored on a two-out error in the opening inning before pushing the lead to 3-0 in the third, when Griffin hit an RBI single and another run scored on a miscue.
- Johns legged out a bloop single leading off the fifth but moved no further.
- Southern New Hampshire scored four runs, three of which were unearned, on four hits and two errors in the sixth. Carbonneau and Gifford had RBI in the frame.
- Devens led off the seventh with a walk before senior pinch runner Courtney Norton (Georgetown, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) later scampered home on a wild pitch.

THE ACTION
- After the first two Penmen were retired, Carbonneau swatted a two-run home run before Resetar added a two-run double during a four-run opening inning.
- Devens slugged a two-run homer of her own in the home half. Johns doubled with two down before Norton walked, bringing Hammond out of the bullpen to escape further damage by inducing a fly ball.
- An unearned run came home for the Penmen in the fourth, but Saint Michael's tied the game in the bottom half with three runs. Connor dropped a two-out RBI double into left field, and Devens went to right center for a two-run single.
- Resetar's RBI single in the fifth gave the Penmen the lead for good, and another run tallied on an error.
- Carbonneau hit another two-run homer in the sixth.
- In the meantime, five Saint Michael's batters picked up hits between the fifth and seventh innings, but none came around to score. Devens and Arruda started the seventh with back-to-back singles, but a groundout and two fly balls ended the game.
