THE ACTION
- The game's lone goal came on its first shot, as sophomore Ashley Borriello's cross was headed home by an unmarked D'Angelo late in the ninth minute at the left side of the box.
- Escobedo averted further damage with a diving stop of first-year Madison Apicella's line drive from distance in the 28th minute.
- A group effort led to the Purple Knights denying Borriello's attempt on a vacated net in the 38th, as senior Paulina Valentine (New Hyde Park, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial), junior Sam Page (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) and sophomore Melanie Winters (Montpelier, Vt./Montpelier/SUNY Plattsburgh) covered an open net, with Valentine getting the final touch, before Escobedo rejected a follow-up try.
- First-year Bella DelVecchio's (Saugus, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) through ball sprung junior Claire Williams (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) for a breakaway in the 59th minute, but her tying bid was smothered by Aliscio.
- The Purple and Gold's final scoring chance came in the 86th minute off the foot of sophomore Nathalie Larsson (Gothenburg, Sweden/Sjölins Gymnasium/Morningside), who fired a shot wide right.
