BEDFORD, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College men's soccer team lost to Saint Anselm College, 2-1, during non-conference play on Monday afternoon at the Back River Sports Complex.
The Northeast-10 Conference counterparts played their annual Community Cup contest, combining to donate $2,000 toward Massachusetts General Hospital's cutaneous squamous cell research in the name of Joe Underhill, who died last month after a battle with cancer. Joe is the father of Saint Anselm senior Brian Underhill.

THE ACTION
- Shortly after Assantha's shot was blocked out of bounds for a corner kick, Bukunt netted the game's first goal at 8:21, converting senior Michael Fortin's assist.
- McHugh made his third first-half save by the 41st minute, keeping it 1-0, before Assantha doubled the lead at 41:29.
- Now on in relief, Barrett was tested just 13 seconds into the second half, denying sophomore Jonas Walter's bid out bounds.
- Barrett made back-to-back saves in the 58th minute to keep Saint Michael's within striking distance.
- Sophomore Brock Martindale (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) saw an attempt turned aside by Underhill in the 61st minute, and classmate Amos Schramm (Sagard, Mecklenburg-Pomerania, Germany/Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium) sent a follow-up bid wide.
- The Purple Knights broke through in the 70th minute, as a misplay in the backfield led to Andrews scoring on a breakaway to halve the deficit.
- Martindale's tying bid midway through the 90th minute was denied by Underhill.
