  • Saint Michael's lost its third 1-0 decision of the season.

THE ACTION

  • Junior Mikaela Langbacka (Lorton, Va./Washington Pride) led a 2-on-1 break with Kennard during the latter portion of the opening period, but Kennard was denied near the right post with 12:20 gone.
  • Mudrak stopped sophomore Lauren Wensel's bid from the slot at 14:30 before turning away first-year Emma Sweeney's breakaway bid with her blocker just 53 seconds later. With Turnage pulled for an extra skater during a delayed penalty, first-year Holly Kiernan rung the post at 15:30.
  • Mudrak made five saves while holding the Foresters scoreless on the ensuing power play, and junior Jace Zapata (Brea, Calif./Gentry Academy) blocked a shot.
  • Lake Forest broke on the board 5:15 into the second period, as Post sent Selby on a breakaway through neutral ice, with Selby ultimately going top shelf to Mudrak's blocker side.
  • During 4-on-4 play, sophomore Grace Canterbury (Eagle River, Alaska/Shattuck-Saint Mary's School) made a move around the defense to the outside of the right circle before cutting back into the slot and having a bid up close stopped at 15:08.
  • Mudrak helped kill another Forester power play by making a blocker save of junior Grace Garby's shot from the slot at 18:10.
  • Mudrak stopped senior Marissa Gebauer's tricky redirection out front with her pads at 10:10 of the third period to keep it 1-0.
  • With 15 seconds left and Mudrak out for an extra skater, Canterbury sent a pass through the crease from the goal line looking for a tip-in, but the puck made its way through with no Purple Knight touch.
