PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College women's volleyball team swept Pace University, 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-23), on Saturday afternoon at the Ann and Alfred Goldstein Health, Fitness, and Recreation Center during Northeast-10 Conference action.

• The Purple Knights collected their first road win against the Setters in program history.  
• The Purple Knights held the advantage in kills (35-32), assists (34-31), digs (56-49) and aces (10-5).

THE ACTION

• The Purple Knights began set No. 1 on a 7-2 run, capping the run off with an ace from Almeida. Pace followed with a 10-5 run of their own, led by three kills and two aces from Binning, to make the score 12-12. Almeida's kill later gave her team a 16-13 edge before the Setters countered with a 5-1 run. The Purple and Gold finished the first set on an 8-5 run, led by Welch who collected two kills during the stretch.
• Set No. 2 featured nine ties, as neither team yielded a lead larger than four points, coming when Pace was up 16-12. The Purple Knights capped off the set on a 13-5 run, securing the victory on a kill from senior Caitlin O'Connor (Bourne, Mass./Bourne).
• Patterson recorded three straight aces in the beginning of set to give the Purple and Gold a 4-1 lead. The Setters responded by going on a 16-7 run, with Jones collecting six kills during the span, to take a 17-11 advantage. Purple Knights were still down 19-13 before starting a clinching 12-4 run with a kill by Welch and sealed the sweep with another kill by Welch, her ninth of the afternoon.
