THE ACTION
- During set No. 1, the Purple Knights went on a 7-3 run to tie the set 15-15 highlighted by two kills and an ace by Welch. The Falcons went on a run of their own scoring seven straight points to make the score 22-15, following an error by Saint Michael's. Bentley won the first set on an ace by Blinn.
- Patterson started the scoring for the Purple and Gold in set No. 2 with two aces on her first three serves to make the score 4-1. Mladenovic also contributed two straight aces in the second set to make the score 11-7 in favor of Saint Michael's. Syverson then recorded a kill to extend the lead to 12-7. Welch went on a 3-1 run recording three kills to give Saint Michael's an 18-14 lead. The Falcons came back and won the second set 25-23, erasing a 22-18 lead held by Saint Michael's.
- The Falcons started set No. 3 by jumping out to a 7-1 lead. The Purple Knights erased a 17-8 Bentley advantage as Patterson, Welch, senior Caitlin O'Connor (Bourne, Mass./Bourne), and first-year Grace Almeida (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) recorded kills to front an 8-1 run to cut the Bentley advantage down to 18-16. Vitko had four kills in the last nine rallies of the match as Bentley clinched the win.
