THE ACTION

• First-year Justina Valentini took a shot from the point 14:43 into the first period that Lavender blocked with the pads, but Lilley was unmarked on the left side of the crease and was able to tap in the puck for the first goal of the game.
• Senior Mikaela Langbacka (Lorton, Va./Washington Pride) put back-to-back shots on net shortly after the Greyhounds' goal, at 15:09, but both were saved by Weiser.
• The Greyhounds scored their second goal of the night on the power play 7:02 into the second period when Cielo took a shot from the point that found a clean shooting lane into the back of the net to make the score 2-0.
• Browning gathered a loose buck in the Purple Knight zone 12:42 into the second period and sent a backhanded wrist shot on net in front of the crease to extend the lead to 3-0.
• Gurnell scored the fourth Assumption goal of the night at 16:20 after Corso used the boards to send a pass into the zone. Gurnell was able to corral the puck and take a forehanded wrist shot and find the back of the net.
• Ruiz scored just eight seconds into the third period on an assist from Gerebi to put the Purple Knights on the board.
• Vaughn slotted the final goal of the night 3:42 into the third period as first-year Ella Rago cleared a puck from a scrum at the boards toward center ice that Vaughn gathered and shot into the top shelf of the net.
