MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team defeated Saint Anselm College, 3-2, on Saturday night at Sullivan Arena to complete a Northeast-10 Conference weekend sweep.

THE ACTION
  • Dukes scored the first goal of the night on the power play at 9:17 of the opening period when Kantgias' pass deflected off a Hawks defender then off the goaltender's blocker for Dukes to gather and shoot in.
  • The Hawks responded at 3:40 in the second period when Mix took a shot from the point that found a shooting lane.
  • The Hawks scored the second straight goal after senior Tommy Schwartz took a shot that Murphy stopped with his blocker, and Christensen wrapped a follow-up backhander around Murphy to give the Hawks the lead at 13:11.
  • Taylor scored his third goal in two days after first-year Ty Bloom (Helena, Mont./Helena Bighorns) found his stick in front of the crease, and Taylor was able to tap in the puck at 16:20 to tie the game.
  • Baxter scored the game-winner on a slap shot from the point at 3:30 in the third period to give the Purple Knights the lead for good on assists from Leale and McFarland.
