COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College knocked off Franklin Pierce University, 74-62, on Tuesday evening during Northeast-10 Conference play in the Ross Sports Center.

  • Saint Michael's held a 42-39 rebounding advantage while outshooting Franklin Pierce, 46.6%-32.2%, from the floor. The hosts held the visitors to 5-for-21 (23.8%) three-point shooting.
THE ACTION
  • Marold's lay-in 46 seconds into the contest gave the Purple Knights the lead for good, and Duniver later drained a three to make it 14-6 by 13:25.
  • The visitors twice rallied within five points, including 17-12 on sophomore Rufus Rusholme-Cobb's jumper at 11:09.
  • Another Duniver trey pushed the lead to 25-14 with 8:41 left, and the hosts led by as much as 14 (36-22) in the opening half on Fricas' jumper with 4:34 to go.
  • Politi knocked down consecutive threes to cap an 8-0 run that brought the Ravens within six by 1:09, but Reid hit a jumper at 41 seconds before Marold converted a three-point play 23 seconds into the second half. The Purple Knights held a 41-30 lead by that point and never again led by fewer than nine points.
