Women's Basketball Dropped by Franklin Pierce in NE10 Matchup

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's basketball team lost to Franklin Pierce University, 62-44, on Friday night at the Ross Sports Center in a Northeast-10 Conference Matchup. First-year Amber Furch (Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood School) scored a career-high 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting and 5-for-7 shooting from three-point range.

THE ACTION
  • Amber Furch paced the Purple Knights' offense in the first quarter, scoring 10 points on 4-for-5 shooting as the two teams played through three ties and five lead changes. The Ravens held the advantage at the end of the first quarter 14-13.
  • The Purple Knights opened the second quarter with an 11-4 run, led by one three apiece from Amber Furch and Blake, who scored five points.
  • The Ravens came back with a 22-6 run to conclude the first half as Vazquez Segura scored half of those points to help propel her squad to its largest lead of the half at 40-30 heading into the locker room.
  • After the Ravens scored the first four points of the second half, Brianna Furch assisted her sister for her fifth assist of the night at 5:36 on a three-pointer to make the score 44-35 in favor of the Ravens.
  • Franklin Pierce held a 14-point lead heading into the final quarter of the night after three players tallied points to round out the penultimate stanza.
  • The Ravens extended their lead in the fourth quarter by going on an 11-0 run in the first 5:04 led by six points from Sirowich.
