Women's Ice Hockey Finishes Weekend Series Against RIT with 3-0 Loss

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team finished a weekend series against Rochester Institute of Technology with a 3-0 loss on Saturday afternoon at Cairns Arena.

THE ACTION
  • The Tigers scored the first goal of the afternoon at 4:15 in the first period when Ness converted on a shot that snuck past Lavender into the back of the net on helpers from Aquaro and Bear to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.
  • RIT doubled its lead at 4:51 in the second period after Brownschilde forced the puck out of the neutral zone and found an open Maloney, who skated down the ice and beat Lavender on her glove side to put the Tigers up 2-0.
  • Aquaro scored the Tigers' final goal of the game at 14:27 in the second period after cutting through between faceoff circles and slotting on the right side of the cage on helpers from Roland and Fahrny.
  • Lavender made 16 saves in the third period to keep the Tigers at bay.
