HANCOCK, Mass./WOODFORD, Vt. - A trio of Saint Michael's College Alpine skiers cracked the top seven on Friday during the opening day of the two-day Williams College Carnival. Alpine races are occurring at Jiminy Peak, while Nordic events are taking place at Prospect Mountain.

• Between Alpine and Nordic, Saint Michael's is eighth among 14 schools with 192 points, within range of Saint Lawrence University (215), Colby College (229) and Harvard University (252).

• The men turned in their third third-place slalom finish this season, totaling 79 points. They were eight shy of second-place Harvard while trimming fourth-place Dartmouth College (74) and Middlebury College (74) and sixth-place University of New Hampshire (71).
• The women placed sixth (66), closely trailing fifth-place New Hampshire (72) and fourth-place Dartmouth (79).
• The Alpine squads combined for fourth-place points (145), eight shy of Dartmouth for third place.
