MANCHESTER, N.H. - The seventh-seeded Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team lost to No. 2 Saint Anselm College, 8-0, on Saturday at Sullivan Arena, as their best-of-three New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Tournament first-round series is now tied, 1-1. The teams will play the third and deciding contest on Sunday at 1 p.m.

THE ACTION
- Mudrak made 20 saves in the first period alone, keeping Saint Michael's within striking distance. Pancoast broke the deadlock 6:40 into the contest, being denied by Mudrak on an initial bid before collecting her own rebound and roofing a shot from in close.
- The Purple Knights nearly exited the period down 1-0, but Pancoast scored again with 11 seconds left, powering past a Purple Knight defender before beating Mudrak to her glove side from the right circle.
- A pair of goals 1:46 apart in the second frame pushed the Hawk lead to 4-0, as Tulchinsky redirected a pass into the slot at 6:00 before McCaffery put home the rebound of a blocked shot.
- Sullivan (9:38) and Weber (11:51) later scored 2:13 apart before Saint Anselm tallied twice more in the third period, with Blair (2:04) and Weber (7:03) finding the net. The final goal was a shorthanded marker.
