COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's lacrosse team lost to No. 10 Saint Anselm College, 17-11, on Saturday evening during Northeast-10 Conference action on Duffy Field. The Purple Knights received a vote toward this week's United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) national poll, while the Hawks' national ranking was according to the USILA. Saint Anselm qualified for the 2022 NCAA Tournament.

- Wilson leapfrogged two players to take over fourth in program history in career faceoff wins (209), passing Zach Smith '09 (204) and James Baghai '10 (207). His 120 wins this season are good for third all-time, short only of Justin Richmond '21, who had 129 in 2021 and 143 in 2019. Wilson's 70 ground balls in 2023 place him seventh in program annals, within 13 of John Leahy's '99 25-year-old record.
- Sardella pushed his career caused turnover total to 54, passing Brian Devilly '16 (53) and Neil Gallagher '18 (53) to take over fifth in program history. Grillone moved into the top 10, matching Matt Cotter '19 for 10th place with 42 for his career.

THE ACTION
- Simonson (12:13) and Katavolos (4:00) both scored tying goals during the first quarter before three Hawks scored in a 3-0 spurt that gave the visitors a 5-2 edge at 12:56 of the second frame.
- Riggs netted his first college marker only 11 seconds later, with Reyes assisting, and Reyes scored at 7:19 to keep Saint Michael's within 6-4.
- Saint Anselm began pulling away on the strength of a 9-1 run.
- Reyes had two goals and an assist in a 4-1 counter, as Saint Michael's capped the stretch with two goals in five seconds to make it a 15-9 game at 9:54 of the fourth quarter.
- Both Larsens scored in a 1:12 span to push the lead back to eight, but Hughes (4:23) and Collins (4:02) struck 21 seconds apart to bring the Purple Knights within 17-11. However, Saint Anselm won the ensuing draw, and the hosts were afforded only two more possessions before the final horn.
