COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College softball team lost to 2022 NCAA Tournament qualifier Pace University, 6-0 and 5-3, on Sunday during a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader at Doc Jacobs Field.

THE ACTION
- Alvarado's two-out RBI single in the first inning staked Pace to a 1-0 lead, and the Purple Knights trailed only 2-0 until the sixth inning.
- Pederson's two-out RBI single made it 3-0 in the sixth before the Setters scored three more with two out in the seventh, with two scoring on Alvarado's double.

THE ACTION
- Poplawski's RBI single scored Matsuda in the first inning before Poplawski came home on a two-out error. Matsuda scored again in the third inning to make it 3-0.
- The Purple Knights tied the game in the home half, as Devens ripped a two-run double before scoring on Connor's RBI double.
- Hearn doubled to the gap in left center with one down in the fourth, but Acevedo retired the final two batters.
- The eventual winning run scored in the fifth when Matsuda laid down a sac bunt, which was thrown away, before Matsuda herself tallied on Valle's RBI single to extend the lead to 5-3.
- Devens singled before reaching third on Johns' double with two out in the bottom half. Garcia came from the bullpen to induce an inning-ending groundout, as she set down all seven batters she faced.
