GAME FACTS
  • Saint Michael's held a 15-9 advantage in shots, while both teams attempted seven corner kicks.

  • The Purple Knights play their first six games on the road in three different states.
THE ACTION
  • Sophomore Bella DelVecchio (Saugus, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) had a pair of opportunities midway through the fourth minute, first trying to chip a shot from the left corner of the box over a rushing Dore, who knocked the ball back to the Purple Knight. DelVecchio sent a follow-up attempt toward the left post, where it was cleared away by a Dolphin back, leading to a corner kick that yielded no shots.
  • Sophomore Faith Kosiba (Dunstable, Mass./Groton-Dunstable Regional) raced unmarked into the box during the 35th minute but had a low shot kicked away by Dore, and DelVecchio's bid in the 36th sent the netminder diving toward the left post for another save.
  • In the 81st minute, Braun sprawled to her left and covered junior Isabella Radovini's low bid.
  • Radovini played a ball out of the air on goal during the 87th minute that Braun ranged to catch for the final shot by either team.
