Ronnie Riby-Williams (Montpelier, Vt./Montpelier) notched a goal and an assist in his college debut, lifting the Saint Michael's College men's soccer team past Assumption University, 2-0, during both teams' Northeast-10 Conference openers on Saturday at Duffy Field.

THE ACTION
- The Purple Knights broke on the board in the ninth minute, with Macias-Cazorla serving from just inside midfield toward the box for Riby-Williams, whose centering pass set up Scolieri to find the bottom left corner of the net.
- Scolieri nearly doubled the lead in the 17th minute, forcing Teixeira to dive toward the left post for a standout save.
- In the 24th minute, Riby-Williams pressed Teixeira into a giveaway at the top of the box before finishing on the vacated net.
- Barrett kept it 2-0 in the 40th minute, tipping first-year Cody Holbert's header over the crossbar.
- Assumption nearly cracked the scoring column in the 79th minute, but first-year Peter Hasund rung the left post from 25 yards out.
- Barrett maintained the shutout with another stop in the 82nd minute, leaping toward the left corner of the frame to deny sophomore Daniel Paulsson's header.
