Women's Soccer Drops Conference Opener Against Southern Connecticut State

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Saint Michael's College women's soccer team fell to Southern Connecticut State University, 3-0, on Saturday at Jess Dow Field, collecting their first loss on the season. Both teams played their first Northeast-10 Conference matches of the season.

  • Slavik herself then sent a shot to the back of the net in the 29th minute, as Burr returned the favor and sent a cross into the box that Slavik tapped in.
  • Burr cashed in on a penalty kick in the 44th minute that extended the Owls lead to 3-0.
  • Stevens-Cardin stopped the lone shot on goal she saw on the day in the 52nd minute, stopping the ball from finding the lower left corner of the net.
