COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's soccer team lost to regionally-ranked Adelphi University, 2-1, on Saturday at Duffy Field in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Purple Knights scored early in the first half but allowed two second-half goals to the Panthers, who are ninth in this week's United Soccer Coaches East Region poll.

THE ACTION
- Schramm scored the lone goal of the first half directly off a corner kick, bending the ball perfectly into the net to give the Purple Knights the lead in the ninth minute of the contest.
- Sophomore Drew Kull (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) was able to stop a shot from the Panthers by heading the ball directly over the net to prevent the equalizer in the 20th minute.
- In the 27th minute, graduate student Matteo Lazzarini sent a shot in on a corner kick, one of Adelphi's best chances of the first half, but Barrett was able to save the attempt.
- In the second half, the Panthers scored their first goal in the 57th minute as Castel dribbled through traffic after a through ball from DeBrosse. He slotted the tying goal into the bottom left corner of the net.
- Castel scored again on the volley after a cross from Pierre in the 82nd minute.
- The Panthers took two more shot after the game-winner, the only attempts by either team, while salting away the better part of the final five minutes by controlling possession.
