- With his 10th save of the night in the second period, Murphy passed Tim Decker '20 for eighth in program history in career saves. Murphy now has 1,446 stops.

THE ACTION
- The Purple Knights netted the first goal of the contest at 11:05 in the first period on the power play when Bloom took a wrist shot from the top of the left faceoff circle that found the upper right corner of the net on helpers from McFarland and Kantgias.
- Tauriainen netted his first career goal a little over a minute later at the 12:13 mark when Dalton skated along the boards and slid a pass to Tauriainen, who crashing in front of the net and was able slot the puck past the goaltender to make the score 2-0.
- Murphy made 10 saves in the second period, including a big save at 15:54 on a 2-on-0 breakaway to keep the Bears from scoring.Â
- Hoehn scored 40 seconds into the third period to cut the Purple Knight lead in half.
- SUNY Potsdam's power-play unit cashed in at 7:45 when Olszewski took a one-timer on a pass through the middle from first-year Eli Doughart-Wood that tied the game.
- Murphy helped force overtime after stopping a penalty shot that was awarded to the Bears with 9.2 seconds remaining in regulation.
- The Bears converted on the only shot during overtime, when Hoehn took a shot from the point on a pass from sophomore Michael Campbell at 3:35 to win the game.
