  • Saint Michael's held sizeable advantages in kills (51-26), aces (13-7) and digs (63-42).
  • Báez Rentas, the only player in program history among the top 10 in both career assists (1,846) and digs (974), moved into fifth in school annals in helpers and seventh in digs during the match. She passed Catie Weller '17 (1,844) in the former category and Keri Forrest '97 (968) in the latter.
THE ACTION
  • Junior Sydney Bennett dropped consecutive kills to snap a 6-all tie in the opening set, giving the Owls the lead for good. The gap grew to as much as 20-13 before Welch's kill brought her team within 23-20, but Miller clinched the win with an ace.
  • With the Purple Knights up only 5-4 in the second set, a visiting service error sparked a 10-0 run that Báez Rentas keyed with nine straight points from the service line. Welch added two kills while Schulze had a block and a kill in that time.
  • In the third set, Settles' kill at 12-9 created the largest lead for either team to that point, and Orth followed with aces for three of the next four points, keying a clinching 15-3 run.
  • Neither team led by more than two points in set No. 4 until Welch's kill pushed the lead to 12-9, part of a 9-0 run keyed by Schulze's service that left the hosts up 19-9.
