RINDGE, N.H. - The Saint Michael's College men's tennis team lost at regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce University, 4-3, on Wednesday during Northeast-10 Conference action. Both of the Purple Knights' setbacks this season have come by 4-3 counts against regionally-ranked NE10 foes. The Raven were ranked seventh in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region poll.

THE ACTION
- Franklin Pierce took the opening doubles point, losing only three games in the top two spots to clinch. At No. 3, Effler and Macpherson took a 6-3 decision, moving to 3-0 as a tandem.
- The Ravens led 3-0 after victories at No. 3 and 1 singles before van den Broek finished off a 0-6, 6-4, 6-2 comeback triumph in the second spot to improve to 4-1 this season, including 2-0 at No. 2.
- Effler was fended off at No. 4 singles, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, with the hosts earning the clinching fourth point with the win.
- Macpherson followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 6 before Hegedus-Kyster capped the match with a 6-3, 3-6, 12-10 victory in the fifth position.
