Field Hockey Caps Season with Loss at Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - The Saint Michael's College field hockey team capped its season with a 5-0 Northeast-10 Conference loss to Adelphi University on Saturday at Motamed Field.

GAME FACTS
  • Cameron ended the year with 172 saves, tying Nicki Collette '99 (1997) for second in program history. The duo trailed only Jean Harbeck '90, who posted 180 in 1988. O'Connor will graduate second at Saint Michael's in career saves (437), behind only Harbeck (455).
  • Graduate student Bridgie Loughlin (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) capped her career tied for second in program history in career assists (24), third in points (110) and tied for third in goals (43). She came within four assists and seven points of school marks.
  • Senior Addy Fenton (Andover, Mass./Phillips Academy) set school records this fall for career (24) and season (15) defensive saves. She stands tied for second in NCAA Division II history in the season category and tied for fourth in the career column.
THE ACTION
  • Johnson put Adelphi ahead 4:28 into the contest, taking Mignon De Wet's pass during a corner set out in front of Cameron and flipping a backhanded shot into the net.
  • Cameron otherwise kept the Panthers off the board in the opening half thanks to nine saves.
  • The hosts scored twice early in the third period to pull away. After Mignon De Wet blasted a reverse shot from the edge of the circle in the 33rd minute, Riche slipped a shot from the middle of the circle inside the left post 6:23 later.
  • Beakes (49:23) and Nagy (52:02) added to the scoring in the latter portion of the fourth stanza.
