COLCHESTER, Vt. - The regionally-ranked Saint Michael's College women's soccer team had its school-record 10-game unbeaten streak snapped by No. 24 Franklin Pierce University during a 6-0 loss on Saturday in Northeast-10 Conference play on Duffy Field. The Purple Knights were fifth in the latest United Soccer Coaches East Region poll, while both teams were among the NCAA's first collection of nine regionally-ranked squads.

With one regular-season game remaining on Wednesday, Saint Michael's remains tied for fourth in the NE10 standings and has secured its first postseason berth since 2002. The top four teams also host quarterfinal games.

- The Purple and Gold was 7-0-3 in its prior 10 games, matching a record the 1991 squad set. Saint Michael's had not lost since a 2-1 affair on Saint Anselm College's grass surface on Sept. 24.

THE ACTION
- In a scoreless contest, first-year Sarah Gormley (East Moriches, N.Y./Westhampton Beach) had a prime opportunity in the 21st minute, getting free in the middle of the box to send a left-footed shot on net, but Fox dove to tap the ball away and off of the post.
- The Ravens responded with the go-ahead goal soon thereafter, with Peirce sending a cross through the box that sophomore Jenni Huttunen tapped in near the right post in the 29th minute.
- Keyt potted her first goal in the 42nd minute, heading in Martin's header pass following a free kick.
- Franklin Pierce pulled away with three goals in an 11:29 span of the second half, as Peirce scored in the 63rd and 67th minutes before Keyt scored again in the 74th. Junior Taylor Maher tallied with 54 seconds to go.
