COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's volleyball team lost to Adelphi University, 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-9), on Saturday during Northeast-10 Conference play in the Ross Sports Center.
On Senior Day, senior
Alexandra Báez Rentas (San Juan, Puerto Rico/New Dimensions) became the program's first player with 2,000 assists and 1,000 digs for a career. The Purple Knights honored Báez Rentas and fellow seniors

MATCH FACTS
- Báez Rentas, the lone player in program history among the top 10 in both career assists (2,012) and digs (1,031), became one of a handful of NE10 players with 2,000 assists and 1,000 digs, and the first Purple Knight to reach the club. She is the fifth player in program history to reach 2,000 assists, and the first since record holder Jess McLeod '14 (3,551) during the 2012 season.
THE ACTION
- Schulze had two kills as Saint Michael's opened the first set with five straight points. After a timeout, Adelphi countered with a 17-8 run. The Purple Knights twice trimmed their deficit to three points, but Alberta dropped the clinching kill.
- Consecutive Welch kills and her tandem block with Bertucci brought the hosts within 11-10 in the second set before first-year Emelia Cascapera's pair of kills keyed a 6-1 response. Settles' kill had Saint Michael's down only 20-15, the first of three five-point deficits in the late stages, but the Purple and Gold came no closer.
- Fiser's pair of aces helped Adelphi led 3-0 in set No. 3, and sophomore Madeleine Chaapel later turned in two kills and two aces to key an 11-1 run that gave the visitors a 13-point lead.
