WORCESTER, Mass. - Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team defeated first-place Assumption University, 4-2, in Northeast-10 Conference play on Saturday in the Worcester Ice Arena. Sophomore Cole Manahan (Hermantown, Minn./Vernal Oilers) made 55 saves in the series finale.

THE ACTION

• McCarthy scored his second goal of the weekend at 13:29 in the first period on an assist from Gagnon to give the Purple and Gold a 1-0 lead.
• Kantgias doubled the lead for Saint Michael's on his 11th goal of the season at 15:37 on assists from Schwartz and Wracker.
• The Greyhounds cut the lead in half at 18:16 on Piandes' goal, assisted from Paragallo and Rossetti.
• Ciancio converted on the power play for the Purple Knights 44 seconds into the second period on a slapshot from the point assisted by McFarland and Gagnon to extend the lead to 3-1.
