EAST MEADOW, N.Y. - The eighth-seeded Saint Michael's College women's ice hockey team lost to No. 1 Long Island University, 3-0, on Saturday during game two of their New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Tournament quarterfinal series in Northwell Health Ice Center. With the victory, LIU wins the best-of-three postseason series.

THE ACTION
- The Purple Knights held the Sharks scoreless on two power-play opportunities in the first period before LIU broke the stalemate.
- Wallner scored on the breakaway at 17:40 to give the Sharks a 1-0 lead on assists from Mörtl and senior Ashley Morrow.
- The Sharks scored 1:16 into the second period when Lenaeus took a shot from the right faceoff circle on an assist from Mörtl to make the score 2-0.
- Junior Angelina Ruiz (Independence, Minn./Gentry Academy) and senior Mikaela Langbacka (Lorton, Va./Washington Pride) both took shots in the final two seconds of the second period, but both were stopped by Holm.
- The Purple Knights shut down another power-play opportunity for the Sharks in the beginning of the third quarter and were unable to convert on their own woman-advantage opportunity shortly after.
- Wallner scored her second goal of the night on a backhand in between the faceoff circles to give the Sharks a 3-0 lead at 9:22 on an assist from senior Mikayla Lantto.
