SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - Junior
Case Kantgias (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Northern Colorado Eagles) buried his second goal of the game with 6:14 remaining to lift the Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team past Northeast-10 Conference foe Saint Anselm College, 3-2, on Saturday at Cairns Arena. Playing their regular-season home finale, the Purple Knights erased a 2-0 deficit on Senior Day.

GAME FACTS
- The Purple Knights remained in third place in the NE10 with four regular-season games remaining.
- Saint Michael's swept the four-game regular-season season series for its first four-game winning streak ever against Saint Anselm. This was the 11th time in the last 15 meetings the teams were separated by a goal or less.
- Saint Michael's has registered at least a dozen wins in consecutive seasons for the first time since a five-year run between 1995-96 and 1999-2000.

THE ACTION
- Burum gave the Hawks the lead with 13:21 gone in the opening frame, scoring from in close shortly after the Hawks won an offensive-zone faceoff.
- Lyons doubled his team's advantage 59 seconds into the second period, converting on a breakaway after senior Will Christensen blocked a shot in his own right circle.
- Taylor nearly broke through at 4:51 but rung the post during a power play.
- Kantgias got the Purple and Gold on the board with 5:19 gone, picking Carroll's blocker corner from the right circle on a power play.
- The Hawks had a key opportunity to nab another two-goal lead, but Burum's one-timer during a 2-on-0 break was denied by Murphy's right toe at 14:03. Only seven seconds later, Murphy again stopped Burum, this time on a deflection below the left circle.
- The Purple Knights drew even a 17:59, as Bloom tapped home Ciancio's cross into a vacated net with Carroll out of position.
- Carroll turned away Taylor's breakaway bid with his paddle at the 9:04 mark of the third period.
- Kantgias found the net for the second time at 13:46, finding space above Carroll's glove corner from the right circle for the eventual game-winner.
- With Carroll pulled for an extra skater, sophomore Alex Hoitt tossed a shot on net from the left point with 1:05 remaining in regulation, but the Hawks didn't garner a dangerous chance in the closing minute.
