COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse team lost its home opener to 22nd-ranked Assumption University, 19-10, on Saturday during a Northeast-10 Conference contest on Duffy Field. The Greyhounds' national ranking is according to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

THE ACTION

• Four Greyhounds scored in an early 2:05 span of the first quarter, and the visitors led 6-0 after Johnston's woman-up tally at 7:28.
• Saint Michael's played nearly even with Assumption from there, getting outscored only 13-10 down the stretch.
• Lynch, Murphy and Hamilton all scored in a 3-1 run, and the hosts drew within 7-3 at 13:42 of the second period.
• Pyy's extra-player goal capped a 9-3 run that put Assumption up 16-6 at 12:26 of the fourth.
• Drislane had a woman-up goal and a pair of assists in a game-ending 4-3 run, feeding Murphy for both of her helpers.
