MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The regionally-ranked Saint Michael's College men's tennis team lost to No. 3 Middlebury College, 9-0, on Saturday at Middlebury Indoor Tennis. The Purple Knights were ninth in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region poll, while the Panthers were third in the ITA Division III national rankings and second in the Northeast Region poll.

THE ACTION
- The doubles tandems of senior Jackson Moser (Missouri City, Texas/Ridge Point)/sophomore Julius van den Broek (Bergschenhoek, The Netherlands/Wolfert Lyceum) and senior Tristian Du Plessis (Rustenburg, South Africa/Höerskool Waterkloof/Wallace State CC)/junior Sergio Barroso (Madrid, Spain/Colegio Montpellier) were both dealt 8-4 losses during doubles, at No. 3 and 1, respectively.
- In singles play, Du Plessis took the 20th-ranked player in the ITA Northeast Region to a first-set tiebreaker in an eventual 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 loss at No. 1.
- Van den Broek also went to a tiebreaker in his opening set during a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 defeat in the fifth spot.
- First-year Garrett Brooker (Charleston, S.C./Oceanside Collegiate Academy) was downed 7-5, 6-1 at No. 6, while Barroso and Moser both won four games in the third and fourth spots, respectively.
