WALTHAM, Mass. - The Saint Michael's College softball team split a Northeast-10 Conference twinbill with Bentley University on Sunday at the Bentley Softball Field, taking game two, 3-2, thanks to a two-run sixth-inning rally after losing 6-1 in the opener. With six league contests remaining, all during the upcoming week, the Purple Knights trail Bentley by one game for the eighth and final NE10 Championship position.

- Junior Jenna Devens (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) tied Meagan Newland '06 for second in program history by increasing her career walk total to 48. With 20 bases on balls this season, Devens is second in that category only to SMC Athletic Hall of Famer Noelle Gill '05, who walked 25 times in 2004.

THE ACTION
- Bentley opened the second inning with three consecutive singles, taking the lead on senior Morgan Fraitzl's RBI knock, and Amato singled home a second run later in the frame.
- Edgerly's single to center in the third plated Sroczinski to halve the deficit.
- The Purple Knights left two on in the fourth, and the Falcons broke the game open with four runs in the home half. Grizzaffi's two-run single capped the scoring.

THE ACTION
- Sroczinski's one-out single in the third accounted for the first base runner by either team, but the Purple Knights stranded a pair after a 9-2 double play ended a bases-loaded threat.
- Connor scored on a wild pitch the following inning for the game's first run.
- After retiring the first 10 batters, Davidson yielded consecutive one-out doubles to Cupoli and Krause in the bottom of the fourth, with the former scoring on the latter's hit. Junior Katie Welch's sac fly to deep second base scored the go-ahead run.
- Sroczinski doubled home first-year Brynlyn Owens (Limon, Colo./Limon) with the tying run in the sixth before Edgerly's third hit of the game, with a two-out single, brought Morey around to make it 3-2.
- Bentley put two runners in scoring position during the sixth with one down before Davidson wriggled out of the jam, and she set the Falcons down in order in the seventh, getting the final batter looking at a third strike.
