- Early in the 16th minute, senior Amos Schramm (Sagard, Mecklenburg-Pomerania, Germany/Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium) served a free kick that junior Drew Kull (Rochester, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) headed on net, but the bid was denied by a Penmen field player for a team save.
- In the 42nd minute, Zapata struck for the game-winner, connecting on a back-door pass from Caceres.
- Perez one-touched home Caceres' cross into the box in the 62nd minute to make it 2-0.
- Smith maintained the two-goal deficit late in the 69th minute, extending to save graduate student Martin Fuentes' shot.
- Shortly thereafter, Schramm's low 71st-minute free kick was turned aside by Neal.
- Sophomore Ronnie Riby-Williams (Montpelier, Vt./Montpelier) connected on a teammate's long free kick in the 79th minute but headed a bid just wide of the frame.
