GAME FACTS

• Manahan recorded 46 saves for the second time this season, having previously stopped 46 shots against VTSU Castleton on Dec. 3.

THE ACTION

• The Purple Knights and Greyhounds kept a scoreless tie through the first period, with Welch and Manahan making 10 and 19 saves, respectively.  
• Manahan stopped a power-play chance from first-year Shane McElheney at 5:39 in the second period that was sent from the point through traffic and nearly gave the Greyhounds the lead.
• Forselius scored at 6:26 after Bloom won the faceoff directly back to his classmate, who took a wrist shot that found the bottom right corner to give the Purple Knights a 1-0 lead.
• The Greyhounds equalized on the power play at 10:30 on Woernle's slapshot from the blue line, assisted by Paragallo and Surrette.
• Piandes scored another power-play goal shortly after the equalizer at 12:20, finishing a pass to the slot from Paragallo to give the hosts a 2-1 lead. Surrette added a secondary assist.
• Assumption doubled the lead early in the third period at 2:36 on Donoghue's goal, assisted by Surrette, to make the score 3-1.
• The Greyhounds an empty-net goal with just over two minutes left in the contest as Woernle scored his second of the night, giving the hosts a 4-1 lead.
