Evan Plunkett (Charlotte, N.C./Holderness School) set a school record for shutouts in a season and tied the record for shutouts in a career as the Saint Michael's College men's ice hockey team defeated Post University, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in Cairns Arena during Northeast-10 Conference play.

- Plunkett registered his school-record fourth shutout of the season, while he tied Dave Donzanti '15 and Tim Decker '20 for first in program history with four for a career.
- Kantgias is now seventh in program history for power-play goals in a career with 18 tallies on the man advantage.
- The Purple and Gold outshot the Eagles, 40-30, and held narrow advantages in both faceoffs (33-30) and blocked shots (17-16).
- The Purple Knights' penalty kill successfully stopped all four extra-man opportunities the Eagles saw in the game.
THE ACTION
- Neither team found the back of the net in the first period, with Cunneen and Plunkett making 16 and 10 saves, respectively.
- Saint Michael's killed off one power-play opportunity for Post, while the Eagles denied two power plays for the Purple Knights in the first period.
- Naumann scored the first goal for the Purple Knights at 5:43 in the second period on a breakaway and slotted the puck in the upper corner to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. First-years Patrick Last (Derry, N.H./Twin City Thunder) and Ian Wolanin (Pomfret, Conn./HC Rhode Island) assisted the first tally for Saint Michael's.
- Bloom doubled the lead at 7:11 in the third period by tapping in the rebound of McCarthy's shot to give the Purple Knights a 2-0 lead.
- Kantgias scored his power-play goal and gave the Purple Knights a 3-0 lead at 18:59 on a slapshot from the point. McCarthy and junior Ashton Allain (Brentwood, Tenn./Walpole Express) added assists for the final goal of the afternoon.
