- Lavender recorded her sixth career 50-save contest.

THE ACTION
- During a first period in which they held a 12-10 lead in shots, the Purple Knights netted the stanza's only goal with 15:20 gone. First-year Kali Boychuk (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan/Windsor Southwest Wildcats) sent a pass from behind the net that Rutnik redirected into the slot, where Jerylo made a slight touch before McDonald buried the loose puck.
- Lavender made 25 saves in the second period alone, and Latka scored the lone tally, on a second effort from below the goal line at 6:50.
- In the third period, senior Elisabeth Gerebi (Victoria, Minn./Chanhassen) sent a shot from the left circle that Rutnik paddled away into the right circle, where Quinn picked up the puck and dumped a shot past the netminder at 6:54. Hartnell also assisted.
- Lavender made 17 saves in a shutout third period, including four during an LIU power play that started with 15:25 gone.
- With Rutnik pulled for an extra skater, Hetman forced a giveaway at the LIU blue line and fed Jarvis, who slipped a long shot that narrowly eluded the final Shark skater on the way to the empty net with 1:03 to go.
