COLCHESTER, Vt. - The regionally-ranked Saint Michael's College men's soccer team defeated Vermont State University Johnson, 6-1, on Sunday at Duffy Field. The Purple Knights, who were 10th in this past week's United Soccer Coaches East Region poll, utilized a lineup primarily consisting of reserve players.

THE ACTION
	- Manley's solo effort put the Purple Knights ahead at 9:51 before Alfani tapped in Manley's end-line cross 30 seconds later. Napoletano added a secondary helper.
- Brannigan made it 3-0 in the 21st minute, putting in the rebound of his initial shot being saved by Gehring.
- Binder put the Badgers on the board in the 27th minute, heading first-year Alex Carter's cross just a step before a charging O'Hearn was able to punch the ball away.
- Manley's second strike padded the lead in the 48th minute, and Napoletano tallied from the right side of the box in the 61st minute, sending a shot inside the left netting. Brannigan and sophomore Bennett Clark (Calais, Vt./U-32) assisted.
- Rincon struck for the game's final tally with five seconds to go, slipping a shot beyond a diving Briggs into the left side of the net.
