GAME FACTS

Only Bill Heney '92 ever made more, turning away 64 shots at Fitchburg State University on Dec. 8, 1990. Manahan posted just the fourth 60-save game in school annals, after Theberge also denied 61 shots against Hamilton College on Nov. 30, 2001.
  • The Purple Knights lost a 3-2 overtime contest for the second straight game. They have allowed exactly two regulation goals seven times in 10 outings this season, going 2-2-3 in those games.
THE ACTION
  • After a scoreless opening frame, the Purple Knights struck for a pair of goals 2:12 apart in the second period.
  • Sacco backhanded a shot past Watson directly off of Thomas' faceoff win in the left circle with 4:20 gone, and Naumann ripped home a rebound from the same spot at 6:32 to make it 2-0. Bloom and Forselius assisted the second tally.
  • Manahan made 30 saves in the third period alone, but Burke scored twice in 7:56 to pull his team even.
  • With Watson pulled for an extra attacker on a delayed penalty, Burke tapped in Bellomo's cross-crease pass at 7:51 to put his team on the board. He poked in a loose puck under Manahan to tie the game at 15:47.
  • In the late stages of the 3-on-3 overtime, Manahan stopped a shot before the rebound kicked out to Chakrabarti, who blasted a close-range slap shot for the winner with 3:30 gone.
