Men's Basketball Defeated in NE10 Play by Bentley

COLCHESTER, Vt. - The Saint Michael's College men's basketball team lost to regionally-ranked Bentley University, 84-64, on Wednesday evening during a Northeast-10 Conference contest in the Ross Sports Center. The Falcons were eighth in this week's D2 CSC East Region poll.

  • Crews tied Mark Fizulich '97 for fifth in program history in career three-pointers (229) while taking over 20th in scoring (1,329), vaulting Tom Hoey '79 (1,317) and Jay Wandtke '97 (1,317).
THE ACTION
  • Three straight baskets from Crews preceded Kenney's jumper at 14:53 of the opening half that capped an 8-0 run and provided Saint Michael's an 11-5 edge.
  • Latham's three-pointer finished off a 10-0 response, but Duniver later buried a triple at 11:41 to tie the teams at 17. Crews' turnaround jumper gave the Purple Knights a 21-19 lead with 9:48 to go.
  • Farrall's eight points keyed a 17-2 counter that made it 36-23 at the five-minute mark, and Bentley carried a 46-35 lead into halftime.
  • Misic and Duniver traded treys in the opening 27 seconds of the second stanza, as the Purple Knights never trailed by fewer than 11 points in the period.
