COLCHESTER, Vt. - Sophomore
Maddie Nutter (Los Angeles, Calif./Royal/Davis & Elkins) saved a tying free-position attempt with two seconds remaining on Saturday to send the Saint Michael's College women's lacrosse team past the University of Bridgeport, 12-11, in the hosts' home opener at Duffy Field.

THE ACTION
- Bridgeport led 4-0 by the time 4:17 remained in the opening quarter, with Dimaio scoring the final two goals to cap her team's three-goal spurt in a matter of 1:29.
- Hamilton tallied twice in a 5-1 response, including netting the tying goal at 13:33 of the second quarter.
- Kreuzova's hat trick highlighted Bridgeport's go-ahead 4-1 run, and her woman-up strike with five seconds left in the opening half gave the visitors a 10-8 lead by the intermission.
- Thanks in large part to seven saves by Nutter, the homestanding Purple Knights limited the visitors to just one goal over the final 30 minutes.
- Peddie, Lynch and Driscoll scored in the third quarter to send the hosts into the fourth up 11-10, but McDermott tied the game with 11:15 left in the final stanza.
- Fenton countered with the game-winner only 36 seconds later.
- Nutter stopped two free-position shots in the final 1:58, including on Bridgeport's last chance to tie with two seconds remaining.
